BIRDS
Bird watchers will find informative reports on various Greek islands on the Bird Tours website.
Bird watchers visiting Lesvos should look at Richard Brooks' excellent Birding on the Greek Island of Lesvos, revised March 2002 (plus yearly updates available).
See the website www.richard-brooks.co.uk/, or email the author at email[at]richard-brooks.co.uk.
Birdwatchers visiting the northwest Peloponnisos, in particular Kalogria, should call in at the Strofylia and Kotykhi visitor centre at the railway station at Lappa (Tel: 26930 31651, email: ciks[at]otenet.gr; open Mon-Fri, 08:00-14:00), where Mr Papandropoulos is an enthusiastic ornithologist (and remarkably fluent in the English names of birds!). Interesting nesters in 2005 include collared pratincoles.
OTHER WILDLIFE
