For those who find the use of scientific names ("Latin Names") - such as Bellis perennis - difficult, and think that botanists
should be more considerate, just be grateful if you have not yet encountered the following (or worse still, had to spell them out to a group of botanists with notepads and pencils):

Fritillaria borealixingjiangensis
Hieracium tschamkorijense subsp. diaphanoidiceps
Muscari sivrihisardaghlarensis
Ornithogalum adseptentrionesvergentulum
On the other hand, what were the circumstances of the naming of Aethionema retsina and Aethionema carlsbergii? Were two botanists getting in the next round of drinks while pondering nomenclature for their new discoveries?
